How to prepare for the Henrietta Barnett 11+

The Henrietta Barnett School in Hampstead Garden Suburb (London Borough of Barnet) is a highly selective girls' school with 120 Year 7 places.

• Round 1: 2, 3 and 4 September 2026. Results by Monday 28 September 2026.

What are the tests?

• Round 1 (set by GL Assessment): verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and English.
• Round 2: the top 300 girls sit a 60-minute English paper and a 50-minute Maths paper.

How to prepare

• Round 1 needs strong reasoning and English, so read widely and practise every question type.
• Round 2 rewards deep thinking: careful comprehension, clear writing and multi-step Maths.
• With 120 places and a very large number of applicants, aim well above the average.
