Year 7 Maths and Science Tuition

Year 7 is a big step from primary school. We help students settle into secondary Maths and Science, fill any gaps from primary school and build good study habits from the start.

What Year 7 students usually learn

Every school teaches topics in its own order. Most schools cover topics like these in Year 7, and we match the class to what the students are doing at school.

Maths

• Place value, negative numbers, factors, multiples and primes
• Fractions, decimals and percentages
• Algebra: using letters, simplifying and substituting
• Sequences and simple equations
• Angles, shapes, perimeter and area
• Averages, charts and tables

Science

• Biology: cells, body systems and reproduction
• Chemistry: particles, solids, liquids and gases, mixtures and separating, acids and alkalis
• Physics: forces, energy, electricity and space
• Working scientifically: fair tests, tables and graphs

How classes work

• One live class for the year group on Zoom. There is no travelling.
• Maths in every session, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology in rotation, matched to what schools teach.
