Year 8 Maths and Science Tuition

In Year 8, Maths and Science get harder. New ideas build on Year 7, and gaps that are not fixed now make GCSE much harder later. Our live classes help students understand each topic properly and feel confident in lessons and tests.

What Year 8 students usually learn

Every school teaches topics in its own order. Most schools cover topics like these in Year 8, and we match the class to what the students are doing at school.

Maths

• Algebra: expressions, equations, formulae and sequences
• Fractions, decimals, percentages and powers
• Ratio and proportion, including best-buy problems
• Angles, area, volume and constructions
• Probability and statistics

Science

• Biology: digestion, breathing, photosynthesis and ecosystems
• Chemistry: atoms, elements and compounds, the periodic table, chemical reactions
• Physics: energy, light and sound, electricity and magnetism
• Working scientifically: planning experiments and reading graphs

• One live class for the year group on Zoom. There is no travelling.
