The 11+ year by year
The key steps for grammar school entry in England. Registration dates differ by area, so always check your local council's website.
For example, Bexley registration ran from 1 to 31 March 2026 for tests in September 2026. Kent registration usually opens in early summer.

Are classes in person or online?
All classes are live on Zoom, so your child can join from anywhere. Students in the UK and abroad attend.
What does my child need?
A Windows computer or laptop with a webcam, and wired headphones. Homework, updates and Zoom codes are on Google Classroom.
When should my child start?
Year 4 is the best time to start the 11+ foundation course. Year 5 is the main preparation year.
How do I see class times and fees?
Send the enquiry form. The times, fees and term dates for your child's year group show straight away. Ash then contacts you to confirm a place. Sending an enquiry does not book a place.
Which schools do you prepare for?
Grammar schools in Kent, Bexley, Bromley and Sutton, the super-selective schools such as St Olave's, Wilson's, Queen Elizabeth's Boys and Henrietta Barnett, and leading independent schools.
Do you run mock exams?
Yes. The Year 5 main programme includes five timed mock exams in the style of the real tests, with progress checks.
Is creative writing marked?
Yes. In the Year 5 Extension class and the Year 6 Masterclasses, creative writing is marked by Ash with individual feedback.
Is there a free trial class?
No. Our classes are a structured course with weekly homework, not stand-alone lessons. Send an enquiry to see the full details for your year group.
Is there homework?
Yes. Homework is set every week on Google Classroom and should be finished before the next class.
Do you teach Year 3?
There is no Year 3 class. Year 3 children can use our free online Maths and English practice tests before the 11+ course starts in Year 4.
Do you teach GCSE?
Yes. Years 7 to 9 have Maths and Science classes, and Years 10 and 11 have GCSE Maths and Science, aiming for Grades 8 and 9.

Yes. Ash is DBS checked.
